See the Blowhole from Kiama's harbour headland

Kiama Blowhole sits at Blowhole Point, beside the harbour. The surrounding reserve is also close to the lighthouse, visitor centre, Pilot's Cottage and rock pool, making it an easy stop to combine with a waterfront walk.

Kiama Council describes the Blowhole Point Reserve as being right by Kiama's Blowhole and overlooking Kiama Harbour. The reserve has toilets, accessible facilities, picnic tables, a playground and nearby food options, so allow time to explore the headland rather than treating it as a quick photo stop.

A place with a long local connection

Kiama Council notes that the name Kiama is believed by some sources to derive from Kiarama-a, meaning “where the sea makes a noise”, in reference to the Blowhole. Read the council's First Nations Community information (opens in a new tab) for context on the area's continuing cultural connections.

Before you go, check the Blowhole Point Reserve details (opens in a new tab) for current visitor facilities and local information.
